One in six children has a vision disorder. Not knowing any differently, many of these children accept poor vision and other eye problems as normal. If left unchecked, serious long-term effects can result.
Good vision and eye health are critical to a child's development. More than 80 per cent of a child's learning is based on vision.
OHIP pays for children's eye exams until they turn 20.
Windsor and LaSalle Eyecare Centres are proud participants of the Eye See...Eye Learn Program for all JK aged children in Windsor/Essex County. The program encourages parents to get their child's eyes examined before starting school.
OHIP pays for your child's eye exams annually. If your JK aged child needs glasses, they will be provided free of charge by our supporting suppliers.
